Application and Document Fees

Depending on the type of application or notice of intent you are submitting, there are different fees and payment processes. In addition, if an application or notice of intent is approved, there may be additional costs required by the ALC for administration and authorization of documents such as survey plans and covenants.

Application Fees

If you submitted an application to the local government prior to September 30, 2020 please refer to the compiled ALC Application Fee Table.

As of September 30, 2020, the ALC application fee for a new application is split equally between the local government and the ALC, and the total application fee for a new Non-Adhering Residential Use application is reduced to $900.

*Note: If a Soil or Fill Use applicant previously submitted an NOI, the $150 NOI fee is deducted from the ALC portion ($750 to $600).

Applicants pay the local government their portion of the fee when they submit the application. Should the local government choose to forward this application to the ALC, applicants/agents will be auto-notified to pay the remainder of the fee directly to the ALC.

At that time, payment to the ALC can be paid by one of the following methods:

Please do not pay the ALC portion of the Application fee until you have been notified to do so.

Local Government and First Nation Government Initiated Application Fees

If you submitted an application prior to September 30, 2020 please refer to the compiled ALC Application Fee Table.

As of September 30, 2020, the ALC application fee for a new application is split equally between the local government and the ALC, and the total application fee for a new Non-Adhering Residential Use application is reduced to $900. Local government and First Nation government initiated applications pay only the ALC portion of the total application fee.

Post-Decision Document Administration Fees

If, on approval of an application, a condition of approval is imposed, the applicant may be required to pay the following fees.

  • No fee is payable under item 2 of the table if item 3, 4 or 5 of the table applies.
  • The fees set out in items 1 and 2 of the table are payable at the time the term or condition is imposed.
  • The fees set out in items 3 to 5 of the table are payable annually, on the date set by the person who approves the application, for each year or part of a year that monitoring is carried out.
